I collected my weekly greedy scale samples yesterday (Tuesday, 4/27) and looked at them today.

It looks like we’re really getting close to crawler emergence – maybe we’ll even beat bloom!

I saw A LOT of live scale incubating eggs … that’s what most everyone is doing right now:  incubating.

However, in one case, after I picked a large female off of a stem, I saw TWO CRAWLERS emerge.  When I investigated further, she was filled with 40 or so eggs that weren’t quite developed yet. I think if you treated today, you’d still be early.

I’m planning on taking more samples Friday, and will keep you posted.
